9 Feb: The Infanticide and Perspectives

I can analyze how an author's choices concerning how to structure specific parts of a text (e.g., the choice of where to begin or end a story, the choice to provide a comedic or tragic resolution) contribute to its overall structure and meaning as well as its aesthetic impact.

I can analyze and evaluate the effectiveness of the structure an author uses in his or her exposition or argument, including whether the structure makes points clear, convincing, and engaging.
1) Review the beginning of chapter 16 and the perspectives.
2) In groups, look back at the language that proves perspective.
3) Use posters created by groups to fill in Venn diagram.
4) Review assignment to write to the Director of ELA convincing her to EITHER censor Beloved and prevent access to the novel or improve high school students' access to the novel.
